Way to work hard swimmers!

Although we did not win the meet this past weekend, our swimmers still worked hard and dropped time in all of their events! That means practices are successful and our swimmers have the determination to finish the season strongly!

Remember that this week's practices are going to be in the morning from 8:30 to 11:15, only on Tuesday through Friday.

11 and ups = 8:30 to 9:30
7 to 10s = 9:30 to 10:30
6 and under = 10:30 to 11:15.

Please make sure you arrive to the pool for the correct time slot!

Let's continue to work hard this week to swim hard against Timberlane AT HOME this Saturday! Only one more meet until Divisionals. Let's make it count, Stingrays!

Oh, and I'm also excited about how all of the stingrays are embracing our new cheer! Go Stingrays!!

Treachwig Meet

Congratulations to our swimmers for their first win of the season!

The final score was IVF 330, TW 203.

Our swimmers not only swam hard, but dropped a lot of time in their individual events!

I know Coach Will and I are so proud of them for working hard and continuing to give their best efforts at meets.

Let's continue to work hard and make this next week at the Woodlands Riptides another success!

Again, good job swimmers! Let's do it again!

First Meet

Howdy Stingrays!

I just wanted to say how proud I am of all of our swimmers from this past Saturday's meet. Everyone gave it their all. Although we might have a lot more work to do in practice, I am excited to say that everyone who participated on Saturday made this first meet worth it.

We are continuing to grow as a team - and I am so excited to see where the end will take us!

Let's stay on this journey and venture into this week's meet with a positive mindset and supportive attitudes! Our meet this week will be at home and we are swimming against Treaschwig. Let's work hard to improve our times even more!

Again, our swimmers make me proud to be a Stingray. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else!

We are the Stingrays...
Couldn't be prouder.
If you can't hear us, we'll yell a little louder.

A Couple of Things...

This Friday is our first pep rally for the season.

Coach Erin and Coach Will will be running stroke clinics before the pep rally in order to give swimmers a chance to refine some of their skills. The times will be as follows:

4-4:30 pm 6 & Unders
4:30-5 pm 10 & Unders
5-5:30 pm 11 & Ups

These stroke clinics are not going to be like practices. They will be focusing on technique and the little details that pertain to swimming as opposed to swimming laps to increase yardage. Although we definitely work on technique during practice, this will be an opportunity to have more individualized attention before meet day.

The pep rally will start at 5:30 and go until 6:45, which is when normal practice times are over. Please join us for dinner, fun swimming, and a time to get pumped for Saturday's meet!

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Time Trials A Success!

I really want to thank all of the participants in this evening's Time Trials Meet!

Tonight gave us a glimpse as to what this season might look like for us. And can I just say that I am quite excited to see what will happen!

If you were not able to attend tonight's Time Trials, please be sure to tell the coaches at practice on Tuesday. We need to make sure to get times for each swimmer in each event. This needs to be done this week.

I am so proud of our swimmers! And even though we still have a lot of work left for us to do, I am getting pumped for this weekend.

Go Stingrays!!

Time Trials Monday!!!

Parents,

This week at practice has been quite successful! I can already see significant differences in how our swimmers are progressing...and it gets me so excited for this season!

On Monday, we will be having our Time Trials. We really need all of the families who have not paid or committed to the event on the website to do so.

Your swimmers will not be able to participate in this swim season if they are not registered and paid for on the website. Please see Greg Jones or Brandie James today during the practices to finish this process. We are looking forward to a great season ahead of us, and we need your help!

So, if you have questions, please let us know. We want to make this process as easy as it can possibly be.

Looking forward to our practice this afternoon!

Coach Erin

One Week!

Hello Stingrays!

There is only one week before our Practice Time Trials on Monday, May 10. The practice meet will be run during regularly scheduled practice times.

Please make sure to commit to this event on our website:

It is so important to make sure you sign up and commit to EVERY SINGLE MEET on the website. If you fail to do so, the coaches might just think you aren't able to come...and won't enter you to swim any events! Now, that would be a big disappointment to everyone. As a team, we need the help of every swimmer on the team to participate as much as they can this season.

For practices, this last week was a little chilly still...but I think as we get further into May, the weather will begin to get a lot warmer (as will the water temperature). Make sure you come to as many practices you can as we are always learning new and important ways to improve your swimming technique!

I look forward to this week and seeing all of our swimmer's faces at practice. See you this afternoon!

Swimming

Hello Again!

Yesterday was our first day to actually get in the pool. It was a little chilly, but I think we all survived!

Parents, as a reminder, the coaches and mentors who are in the pool with your little swimmers would be greatly appreciative if you could stay on the shallow end of the pool. In order for us to get the most out of practice, we need our swimmers to stay focused on the activities in the pool, and not mom and dad on the side!

I know that this part of swim team is hard...especially for the little ones! Let me assure you that if there is a problem, we will make sure to send your little swimmer to you. Every one of our swimmers is our top priority. And we want to make this season on the Stingrays as successful for them as possible!

Also, the baby pool is off-limits during all practices. No one, including those not on swim team, should be in there during the times we are at the pool. Please help us out and make sure we all respect this important rule! We don't want anyone to get hurt.

Thanks for your cooperation with these items. We'll see you all this afternoon for round 2 of the pool (if the rainstorms hold off!).

Practices

Thanks to all of the swimmers who have been coming to practice!

We were definitely thankful for the sunshine yesterday. It's warming up out there!

Because the weather is warming up and this is swim team, afterall, we are going to try to start swimming on this Thursday.

Make sure to wear your swim suits, bring your goggles, and don't forget a towel!

The forecast says it might rain, but we're holding out for more sunshine! See everyone at practice this afternoon.

Coach Meet and Greet!

Hello Stingrays!

I just wanted to take a moment to say, "Hello" as your new coach for the 2010 season. I'm really excited to be a part of your team and hope to meet a lot of you at our team's Coach Meet and Greet this Saturday at the Inverness Forest Clubhouse at 12 pm.

Coach Will and I are going to be in attendance and want to meet and talk with you! There will be pizzas to eat and t-shirts to order. Don't miss out on this opportunity to ask us questions and hear about our goals for this new upcoming season!

We hope to see you there.

Coach Erin
